Dayna Simon is Senior Counsel, Professional Conduct and Regulatory Affairs, at the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, in Toronto, Canada. She provides advice on legal and policy issues to College staff and committees. She leads a team of decision writers and she represents the College at discipline hearings. Dayna is currently the project manager for the RCDSO’s strategic project on governance modernization. She has written and lectured widely on the areas of privacy, informed consent, disciplinary hearings, transparency, governance and regulatory law. She co-authored a book with Nora Rock called Foundations of Criminal and Civil Law in Canada and has written articles published in the National Post. Dayna is a lawyer who holds a BA in psychology from York University, an LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Master of Science in journalism from Columbia University.
