Greg Pope is a psychometrician and the Director of Examinations at the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), the largest regulator in western Canada. He is responsible for all examinations administered to APEGA applicants and members including the National Professional Practice Examination (NPPE) that is taken across Canada and abroad by thousands of candidates annually. Prior to working with APEGA Greg gained experience working with Canadian and international assessment companies developing and managing high stakes assessment programs and psychometric consulting services. In these roles Greg designed software and reporting approaches in many areas of psychometric analyses of high stakes assessment data such as item bank composition visualization reports, result reporting at candidate and multiple organizational levels, collusion detecti on and test security, Classical Test Theory item and test analysis, non-parametric item response modeling, as well as differential item functioning analysis and group difference reporting. Prior to working in the private sector Greg worked as a psychometrician with the Alberta government in the area of large-scale high stakes provincial educational assessment. Over his two-decade long career thus far, Greg has gained extensive experience in the area of certification/licensure testing having worked with dozens of associations and regulators on improving the defensibility of their high stakes assessment programs.
