Kevin VanDerZwet Stafford has been a practising clinician for over 20 years. Prior to becoming the Director of Clinical Training of the Couple and Family Therapy Centre at the University of Guelph, he operated a full-time private practice (1997-2015), served as an external consultant to the Homewood Health Centre (2006-2013), and was the Executive Director of the Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (2007-2009). Kevin has also taken an active role in the development of the profession. In 2009, Kevin was appointed to the transitional Council for the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), where he chaired several committees and oversaw the development of the profession’s regulations, practice standards, and code of ethics. In 2015, Kevin was elected to the first CRPO Council where he served as Chair of the ICRC and as a subject matter expert on psychotherapy to the multi-college committee established by the MOHLTC to define the controlled act of psychotherapy. He currently sits on a task group developing Canadian-based accreditation standards and systemic competencies for the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (CAMFT).
